Showquest 2026

On Thursday 11 June, ĢƵ College returned to the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre at the Aotea Centre to compete in the Showquest competition with an original and entirely student-led performance titled When We Were Young, by Amelia Irwin 13D9, Tayla Penman-Gates 12J11 and Ivy Liong 13J11. MORE

NZ International Biology Olympiad

During the April school holidays, Rainie Tang 13B1 was selected to participate in the New Zealand International Biology Olympiad training and selection camp, after her participation in the summer tutorial programme. MORE

Inaugural Z Club Meeting Launches at BDSC

Friday 12 June was a special day in the history of ĢƵ College. The Inaugural Z Club meeting led by Mrs Hubaan Bhandari took place. Sixty-four students gathered in BL1.1 to learn about the club’s purpose and future direction. The session introduced members to the core values of Zonta International, including service, leadership, equality, and community engagement. MORE

Runners Up at Culinary Challenge

This term BDSC entered two teams into the regional New Zealand Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge (NSSCC), an annual event run by The Culinary Arts Development Trust. The competition is designed to promote the next generation of culinary talent, provide career pathways for students, and foster relationships between secondary schools and the hospitality industry. Kakehashi

On the Wednesday 10 June, alongside a group of Year 11-13 students taking Japanese, we had the opportunity to attend Kakehashi (“bridge between two nations”), a Japanese cultural event held at Auckland University. It was the first time BDSC has participated, which made it a very exciting and memorable experience for us and our fellow students. MORE

Year 11 Option & Careers Evening

On Wednesday 24 June, we hosted an Options & Careers Evening for Year 11 students and their whānau. With students soon to make important decisions about their Year 12 programme of study, this was an opportunity to learn more about the option selection process, hear about possible post-school pathways, and talk to Heads of Learning about the courses on offer in 2027.MORE
