Eye on Nature Wearable Arts Competition 2025

This year, 21 BDSC students participated in the Eye On Nature Wearable Arts Competition run by the Manukau Beautification Trust.

Money Week 2025

From Monday 4 August to Friday 8 August, students at our school took part in Money Week, a national event focused on growing financial literacy among young people. Moth Plant Competition 2025

The 2025 Howick Local Board Moth Plant Competition, which ran from Monday 3 March to Friday 9 May. The competition aimed to control the spread of the invasive moth plant, which spreads rapidly and threatens native plants. This year, 43 teams registered and took part in this event, removing a total of 246,302 pods and seedlings, stopping over 6.1 million potential seeds from spreading.MORE

Success at NZSS Culinary Challenge

Kate Sole 13J5 and Georgia Sole 13J11 participated in the Regional NZ Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge (NSSCC).

For this, they had to produce two identical entrée portions of a dish containing lamb loin, kumara, two locally grown vegetables and one rescued kitchen product.MORE

In Term 2, our music department has been busy! They attended the annual Discovery Concert by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, participated in an Orchestra and Jazz Band workshop, and got valuable insights into Songwriting Competitions from the Play it Strange Foundation.MORE

SGCNZ Shakespeare Festival

On Friday 30 May, a group of 12 Botany students and their teachers met at 4.30am at Auckland Airport to wing their way to Wellington and take part in the national finals of the SGCNZ Shakespeare Festival at St James Theatre.MORE
